New widget: JanaGtkWorldMap
A world-map widget that (optionally) shows the daylight hours for a given time/date. Like the clock (also featured in the corner), it's fully scalable and uses theme colours. Has functions to translate back and forth between latitude/longitude and x/y too, so I'm expecting a libjana-gtk/gypsy mash-up from a certain Mr. Burton (no pressure) :)
Ooh, I'm thinking "timezone selector".
I'm guessing that doesn't account for longer/shorter nights depending on the seasons, does it?
@Bastien: On the contrary, it does take into account the day of the year.
Cool stuff :) That really SCREAMS for a libjana using ClockApplet.
Hey, I'm up to doing a gypsy mashup. Maybe, sometime...if I'm bored.
Have you seen http://geocanvas.sourceforge.net/geoc/index.html ? That might be a usefull resource to steal ideas from when extending this widget :)
