I don't know, is it just me or is one of these items ridiculously over-priced?

yes they do cost alot. better off buying a normal gps which can be used on its own too. then using that mapping software because it hooks into OSM.
i need to buy a usb adapter thingie then i get try out my gps. though it only talks about bluetooth gps ive seen things liek gpsbabel and gpsd in garage.
